Sports Medicine Surgeon

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sports Medicine Surgeon to join our esteemed medical team. As a Sports Medicine Surgeon at our practice, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and providing surgical interventions for sports-related injuries and conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments, for individuals with sports-related injuries and conditions.
  • Utilize your expertise to diagnose and treat a diverse range of sports-related issues, from musculoskeletal injuries to exercise-related health concerns.
  • Perform surgical procedures to address sports-related injuries, using advanced techniques and technologies to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Dedicate 2 days to patient clinic appointments, offering expert consultations, treatment recommendations, and post-operative care.
  • Allocate 2 days to surgical procedures in the operating room, demonstrating precision and skill in sports medicine surgeries.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and integrated treatment plans.
  • Participate in potential outreach efforts, including clinics at Alice Hyde Medical Center, to provide accessible care based on community needs.
  • Embrace flexibility in scheduling to accommodate patient needs, surgical commitments, and potential game day coverage for the university.
  • Partnering/Collaborating across the partner hospitals

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree with specialization in Sports Medicine.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Sports Medicine.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in New York (or ability to obtain post-hire).
  • Proven expertise in diagnosing and managing sports-related injuries and conditions.
  • Strong surgical skills and a commitment to patient safety.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with patients, medical staff, and athletes.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
